Community Involvement

A Young Enterprise Opportunity for Arrowtown School Students

The Arrowtown Farmers Market is first and foremost a community-driven, not for profit venture.

When we first started talking about the Market, we knew that we wanted a broad cross-section of Arrowtown people involved, so we spoke to Arrowtown School very early on in our planning.

Arrowtown School has been very supportive of the Market plans, and have been setting up a “Young Enterprise” group with many motivated Year 7 & 8 students.

We are delighted that Arrowtown School will have its own stall, manned by the ‘young entrepreneurs’ and their parents. The students will have a wider remit of goods to sell than the rest of the vendors so that they have the ability to try out different products and learn from their experiences as they go. Whilst their product options are wider, all the school products will be approved by the AFM Committee to ensure a good ‘fit’ with the wider Market.

All proceeds from the Arrowtown School stall will go towards their Year 7 & 8 school camps.
