Arrowtown Farmers Market is always seeking stallholders from Arrowtown, the wider Wakatipu, Wanaka and Central Otago who want to become part of our beautiful weekly Sunday market alongside the historic Library Green in Arrowtown.
Our seasonal market will begin on Sunday 23rd October 2022 from 10am to 2pm on, and adjacent to, the Library Green on Buckingham Street, and runs weekly until the weekend of Easter Sunday, 9th April 2023. This is a total of 24 markets for the 2022/23 season, closed on Christmas Day 25th December 2022.
Arrowtown Farmers Market is a registered member of FMNZ. And we undertake compliance with the FMNZ “three basic rules” which are:
1. A Farmers Market is primarily a food only market (with limited arts & crafts)
2. This food is produced within a defined local area
3. The vendor must be directly involved in the growing or production process of their products (no on-selling, no “middle men”, wholesalers, retailers, etc )
Local produce & artisanal products
If you can offer regionally grown and added-value products for our Arrowtown Farmers Market then please consider getting in touch.
Think of baked goods, gourmet pies, tea/coffee, juices/smoothies, garden herbs, bread, wild harvested items, fresh fruit and vegetables, chocolate, cheese, honey, wine, craft beer/cider, plants, flowers, seafood, lamb, beef and venison.
Applications for our craft vendor spaces. We will also have a small number of artisan craft vendors in the 2022/23 season. We are encouraging applications from vendors who are local to Arrowtown and have self-made products based on sustainable principles. Preference will be given to local applications.
If you intend to sell value-added processed food products (i.e. cooked, baked, bottled, preserved or otherwise processed), you are likely to have to register under the Food Act 2014. Where does your business fit? Click here to find out more about MPI rules. There is also information on the QLDC website.
If you are not already registered but need to be, please download any forms and submit them to the appropriate organisation/s. Once you have received their approval, include these with your completed Vendor Application Form. As a Vendor, it is your responsibility to have the appropriate registration/s in order. We are mandated to submit details of all vendors for every market to QLDC under our consent conditions – there are no shortcuts when it comes to food safety obligations.
If you’re a Community Group looking to sign up as a vendor, please have a look at our info page just for you!
We will review your application let you know of our decision. Your application may be referred to the committee for a decision – if this is happens we’ll let you know when the next meeting is, and when you might expect a decision.
